The Group increases volume of manganese ore purchases from Ghana

LIMASSOL, CYPRUS – November 14, 2018

Primeore Trading (Polska) Sp. z o.o. entered into an additional contract for purchase of manganese ore from Ghana, so that the total volume of the ore being off-taken and further supplied to the customers of the Group had almost doubled thereby reaching about 1 mMT.

Such advance was caused by increased demand from Group’s customers for high quality manganese ore to meet their manufacturing and marketing programs. The use of high-quality manganese ore allows the users to produce wider variety of ferroalloys including high quality ferroalloys what lets them operate throughout different markets, situations and conjunctures flexibly and efficiently.

Ghana is a major producer of manganese carbonate ore which is an essential element needed for producing of various grades of steel. Manganese ore is used to produce ferroalloys which is then used in steel manufacturing processes. The Group traditionally off-takes pretty impressive volume of ore from Ghana and increase of the purchase and supply of the material to the Group’s customers was a promising development of the cooperation in this area.
